Robert C. Gibson, Sr.


FREEHOLD - Robert C. Gibson, Sr., 62, died suddenly at his home in Freehold, NY, on Saturday, March 27,  
 2010. He was born November 20, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the son of the late Matthew and
Marjorie (Lee) Gibson. He attended Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY. He was called to duty by The
U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was proud to have fought for our country. He was Deacon at Miracle
Mountain Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and most of all spending time with family and
friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters: Carol McGraw, Marjorie Rose, and
Kathy Gibson. He was also predeceased by his son in law Mark Bungay. Survivors include his loving and
devoted wife of 38 years, Karan (Dauernheim) Gibson, his siblings: Betty and Butch VanEchaute, Matthew
and Sharon Gibson, William and Lynette Gibson, James and Lori Gibson, Wayne and Deb Gibson, Keith
Gibson and Linda Wiley, Richard and Andrea Gibson, Jean and Jim Lyons, Tammatha and Michael
Camminiti, his kids Robert Jr. and Michelle Gibson, William and Veronica Calhoun, Brian Gibson and Hope
Roloson, Shannon Gibson, Dawn (Gibson) Bungay and Michael Francoeur, Chantelle Gibson, Thomas and
Jen Bungay. He is also survived by his grandchildren Anthony Gibson, Justin and Deanna Calhoun, Hayley
Lang, Cason Gibson, Ashley Roloson, Phil Roloson, Joshua, Kyle and Christopher Bungay, Ryan and
Catharine Francoeur, Austin Gibson, Thomas,Brandon and Ryan Bungay , many nieces and nephews and
grandnieces and nephews, and many more who considered him "Dad", "Poppy", "Brother" and "Best Friend."
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross Street, Cairo,
on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will take place Thursday, April 1,
2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross St. Cairo, with Pastor Cam Mills officiating.
Interment will take place in the family plot of The Cairo Cemetery, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the family, C/O The Bank of Greene County, in Dawn Bungay's name. Electronic
